April 18, 2007, White Belt Test

Last Wednesday, April 18, twenty-five Cocoa Beach Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate student attended the tip test held at the Cocoa Beach Recreation Center.

Arigato to Hanshi for presiding over the test and bringing out the very best of each of those who tested. Arigato also to our Shihan, Sensei Chaskelson, who, despite the fact that he was overseas, kept in constant contact leading up to and after the test. His enormous spirit was felt on the deck.

Arigato to our board of judges, Tom DuJardin (San Dan), Connie Rutkowski (Ni Dan), Joe Motro (Sho Dan) and Trevor Tezel (Sho Dan).

We had a strong turnout with the following deshi showing support: Stephen Clarke (RoKyu), Janet Jochum (Go Kyu), Xander Boggs (Yellow Belt), Brian Boggs (Yon Kyu), Roy Hill (Yon Kyu), Michael Adams (San Kyu), Sarah Parker (Orange Belt), Wade Parker (Orange Belt), Josh Adams (Orange Belt), Clay Tezel (Orange belt), Michael Motro (Ik Kyu) and Sheila Gagne' (Ik Kyu).

The following deshi were promoted:

  • RoKyu: Anthony Clarke, Brennan Harrison, Jordan Tomberlin.
  • GoKyu: Larry Lyon, Stephanie Glass.
  • Yellow Belt: Kyle Berry.
