February, 2009: Kyu rank Testing

Fifteen Cocoa Beach deshi participated today, Sunday 16th, in a 5 hour karate testing and demonstrations and breaking with over 85 Brevard Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate Schools at the Viera Recreation Center. Students from the Cocoa Beach dojo were joined by those from Cocoa, Viera, Suntree, and Titusville schools.

Kudos to those Cocoa Beach students who were not testing but showed up to support those that did: Sempai Joe Motro, Sho-Dan; Michael Motro; Ik-Kyu; Steve Turner, Ni-Kyu; Stu Warren, San-Kyu; Jeff Tomberlin San-Kyu; Jordan Tomberlin, San-Kyu.

Congratulations to the following students were tested and were promoted by Hanshi Scaglione:

  • Ro-Kyu (one gree tip): Kelly Dunn; Ivan Hidalgo
  • Go Kyu (two green tips): Ben Gaffney
  • Yellow Belt: Nicholas Davidson; David Bondi
  • Yon-Kyu (Green Belt): Jamieson Dettmer
  • San-Kyu (Brown Tips): Logan Clifton
  • Ik-Kyu (Black Tips): Wade Parker
