Today, Sunday August 12th, 2007, about 50 students and family and friends showed up at our Boom Fitness location in Cocoa Beach for our bi-annual testing of kyu ranks.. Thank you to Tony Ross, General Manager at Boom for hosting the event.
Arigato to Hanshi Scaglione for conducting the spirited workout and overseeing the testing and for his support and guidance. The workout and testing ran close to four hours. Arigato to Sensei David Tamir, Go-Dan and Shihan of the Suntree YMCA Dojo for showing up with several of his students and heading up a board of judges. Arigato to the other black belts who showed up and assisted with the testing: Sensei Kurt Tezel, Sempai Joe Motro, Sempai Carla Eddy, Sempai Trevor Tezel.
Arigato to those students who did not test and showed up to support those testing; and to those that did test and did not make the rank this time: Sheila Gagne; Michael Motro; Wade Parker; Danny Parker; Joshua Adams; Laitham Kellum Snr.; and new white belts Nicholas and Rory. Kudos also to those students from the Cocoa & Suntree Dojos who showed up to support our test: DJ Johnson; Kathleen Holland; Sam Mikekills; Yoni Tamir; Brandon Springten; Danielle Delgado; Avery Stahl; Angelina Stahl.
It is not whether you pass or fail that counts but rather showing up with budo (warrior) spirit!
