Cocoa Beach Shorin-Ryu Karate

 

August 18, 2010 -- Black Belt Testing

Cocoa Beach Shorin-Ryu Karate held a black belt testing today, Wednesday August 18th, 2010 at our affiliated WMKA (World Matsubayahsi Karate-Do Association) Indian River Dojo. Thanks to Sensei Angelo Mazza (Roko-Dan) for coming from Orlando and for conducting; Sensei Phil Collins, Yon-Dan for hosting; Sensei Kalani Moinos for participating.

The test commenced at 1pm and went on till around 4pm in the mid day heat with no air conditioning.

"The dojo is the place where courage is fostered and superior human nature is bred through the ecstasy of sweating in hard work. It is the sacred place where the human spirit is polished.” (Grand Master Shoshin Nagamine).

Congratulations to the following Cocoa Beach Karate students promoted under Soke Nagamine and the WMKA:

  • Michael Motro, promoted to the rank of Sho-Dan, 1st degree black belt
  • Joe Motro, promoted to the rank of Ni-Dan, 2nd degree black belt
  • Sensei Tom DuJardin, promoted to the rank of Yon-Dan, 4th degree black belt
