December 15, 2009: White Belt Tip Testing

Cocoa Beach Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate Dojo conducted our white belt tip testing tonight, December 15, 2009.

Domo arigato to the black belt judges: Sempai Joe Motro and Sempai Kathleen Lemuire (Cocoa) for assisting with the testing.

Arigato also to the senior kyu ranks who showed up to show solidarity with those testing:

  • Ik-Kyu: David Blackburn; Michael Motro
  • Ni-Kyu: Michael Adams; Jean Chipman; Joshua Adams
  • San-Kyu: Stu Warren; Logan Clifton

    Congratulations to the following eight deshi who tested and were promoted:

  • Ro-Kyu: Michael Hall, Katie Brewer, Hunter McCarthy, Sue Hall
  • Go-Kyu: Aiden Adams; Ivan Hidalgo; Kelly Dunn, Kelli Adams

    As always we thank Hanshi Scaglione for his leadership and example and congratulate him and the twenty-one students that tested at our newest Palm Bay Dojo. We also send our congratulations to the deshi at our other sister dojo here in Central Florida who tested this month – Cocoa, Suntree, Titusville, & Viera.

    We look forward to our annual year end workout with all Central Florida dojo, to be led by Hanshi this coming Saturday, starting at 10am at the Cocoa Dojo (located at the Cocoa YMCA Family Center, attached to Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida, 1519 Clearlake Rd., Bldg. 18 (321-433-7770).
