Today, Saturday Dec. 19th, deshi from all seven Brevard Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate schools (Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Palm Bay Suntree, Titusville, & Viera) gathered at the Cocoa YMCA location for a combined year-end workout and compai, led by Hanshi Scaglione.
Kudos to the following Cocoa Beach deshi who showed up to represent Cocoa Beach Dojo: Sempai Joe Motro, Dave Blackburn, Michael Motro, Stu Warren, Jeff Tomberlin, John Blackburn, Jordan Tomberlin, Kelly Dunn & Hunter McCarthy. Great job to you all!
Our next big events are in Feb. with the kyu rank testing (yon-kyu and above up till ik-kyu) as well as a special weekend with black belts and other ranks visiting from schools around the country – Cocoa Beach will be hosting the Saturday workout. We need to make sure that we keep up our training over the holidays to be in shape for these events.
The holiday training schedule will remain the same with the exception of the next two Friday classes (Xmas Day & New Years Day) where the gym is closed.
