
A total of 26 students participated, including those students testing, as well as those showing up to support the event. An additional two students with will be tested on Wednesday and one other student will be tested in March for black belt (sho-dan). Dom arigato to Hanshi Scaglione, who is currently visiting and conducting classes at the NYC Dojo, for his tireless leadership and support!
The board of judges for the testing included the following black belts: Co-Shihan of the Cocoa YMCA Dojo, Sensei David Tamir; Shihan of Cocoa Beach Dojo, Sensei Des Chaskelson; Chief Instructor Sensei Kurt Tezel; and black belt instructors Ms. Connie Rutkowski; Mr. Joe Motro and Ms. Carla Eddy.
Students who were not testing but showed up to lend support included: Trevor Tezel, Ik-kyu; Sheila Gagne, Ni-kyu; and JD McCormack, Ni-Kyu.
