Today, Saturday February 6th, 2010, Cocoa Beach Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate School hosted a special black belt workout conducted by Hanshi Scaglione and attended by local and visiting black belts.

In attendance were Hanshi Robert Scaglione (CEO Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Worldwide); Kyoshi David Baker (NYC), Kyoshi Michael Mackay (NYC), Sensei David Tamir (Suntree). Sensei Des Chaskelson (Cocoa Beach); Sensei John Bottega (NYC); Sensei Kurt Tezel (Titusville); Sensei Boris Grossman (NYC); Sensei Connie Rutkowski (Viera); Sempais: Bob Dubrow (Minnesota); Kristen Dominger (NYC); Carla Eddy (Cocoa); Kim Garon (NYC; Kathleen Lemuire (Cocoa).
Hanshi once again stressed the importance of “stepping first” in ALL moves, even in weapons kata. A good part of the class was spent on weapons training with Sai; Tuifa, NunChaku; and Bo all represented.
Cocoa Beach students are reminded of the upcoming kyu rank testing on February 26th. Make sure to train hard and peak for that event, whether you are testing or not.
