This email is going to Cocoa Beach students only to acknowledge all those CB deshi (fourteen in total) who made the trip to the Suntree YMCA for the Suntree / Cocoa Dojo belt testing, to support our fellow deshi testing. Shihan Tamir will be sending out another email on the test to the worlwide group.

Congratulations to all those Suntree and Cocoa YMCA Dojo students who tested today– over twenty students were promoted.
Kudos to all those Cocoa Beach deshi who showed up to support our fellow in their testing. Black belts: Sensei Tom DuJardin; Sensei Kurt Tezel; Sempai Connie Rutkowski; Sempai Joe Motro; Sempai Trevor Tezel. Ik-Kyu Michael Motro; San Kyu Jean Chipman and Roy Hill; Yon-kyu Larry Lyon; Ro-Kyu, Mark, Kiani & Maleko Mariani and most especially to white belt Nicholas Hawkins! Kudos to all of you. It is a lot easier to show up when you are testing than when you show up to support others who are testing – this is big spirit and a good demonstration of karate-do.
Big spirit was also shown by Roy Hill and Mark Mariani who volunteered to perform board breaking demonstrations even though they were not testing.
We have two white belt tests coming up (October and December) and a full belt test in February. Attendance at special events (testing, beach workouts, end-of year workouts etc is mandatory for green belts and above whether you are testing or not. Students who wish to be considered for promotion at the upcoming tets need to show up for events and for classes on a regular basis – 2-3+ times a week, depending on rank. Remember to sign the attendance book. Students who do not meet these basic criteria are invited to enjoy their current rank.
We have five classes a week for Cocoa Beach deshi at two locations. Let us begin now to train hard for the next test or event that is upcoming.
